    How it works

Regional landfill run by the City of Rapid City Solid Waste Division at 5555 S Hwy 79, Rapid City, SD 57701 (the Census geocoder could not confirm whether this address is inside city limits). Open Monday-Saturday 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Non-residents may use it and pay by weight. Rapid City has no curbside pickup for large items, so bulky items go here.

    Cost & rules
    • Liquid paint is not accepted: solidify it with sawdust, kitty litter, dirt or paint hardener first.

Before you go

  1. Note whether it’s latex (water-based) or oil-based; programs often treat them differently.
  2. Keep paint in its original, labelled, closed container.
  3. Ask about quantity limits per visit.
