    How it works

Bulk items are collected curbside every other week on the recycling day by Priority Waste: up to two large items or eight extra bags per service. Allowed: furniture, mattresses, appliances (including dryers and refrigerators), televisions, toilets or sinks, cut and bundled carpet. Not allowed: car parts including tires and rims, construction debris, concrete, gas-powered equipment and similar. Questions: Department of Public Service, 734-728-1770.

Before you go

  1. Count each piece separately: mattress, box spring and topper can be priced differently.
  2. Check for moisture, mold or bed bugs; many recyclers refuse damaged bedding.
  3. Confirm per-piece pricing and whether wrapping or an appointment is required.
