    How it works

Under Maine's e-waste law, manufacturers pay to recycle TVs, computer monitors, laptops, tablets, e-readers, printers, game consoles, portable DVD players, digital picture frames and other screens of 4 inches or more. Each town must give its residents a collection site or event. Households, K-12 schools, and businesses and nonprofits with 100 or fewer employees bring covered devices to their town's site; some sites charge a small fee. It is illegal to throw away CRT and LCD screens in Maine. Cell phones are not covered.

    Cost & rules
    • Bring covered devices to your town's collection site or event; some sites charge a small fee.

Before you go

  1. List each device and describe any damage to the operator.
