Polk County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility
Free drop-off for noncommercial Polk County residents at 5 Environmental Loop S., Winter Haven, FL 33880 (at the North Central Landfill; Census places it in unincorporated Polk County), Friday 8 a.m.-noon and Saturday 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Household chemicals and electronics (five components per visit); paint limit 20 gallons a year. Also periodic collection events.
Polk County North Central Transfer Station (residents)
Residents-only drop-off at 3131 K-Ville Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823 (Census: City of Auburndale), on the north side of the North Central Landfill; Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cars, small trucks and trailers. $10 minimum per load; per-ton rates for white goods, tires and scrap metal.
Household chemical and electronic waste from Polk County residents is accepted at no additional fee at the HHW facility at the North Central Landfill. Checked October 26, 2026.
